Lively façades which cleverly mediate between outdoors and indoors – Hawa Sliding Solutions AG develops sliding hardware systems for this in the “On buildings” business area. With “Hawa Frontslide Matic” the Swiss company is now presenting what it claims to be the world’s first sliding solution with an SMI interface, via which external shutters can be integrated in the building automation. The intelligent control does not just create comfortable conditions in the interior at all times. It also provides a harmonious façade appearance, and makes a contribution to the energy efficiency of the building.
Robust, windproof and weatherproof sliding shutters weighing up to 140 kg made from wood, metal, glass, plastic or textiles. Systems with one to four leaves which move individually, symmetrically or telescopically in a space-saving and discreet way, even in front of large windows – the “Hawa Frontslide” has many faces. And it provides plenty of functionality without interfering with the building envelope: individual use of daylight, economical shading which flexibly aligns itself with the position of the sun, one-way privacy protection, natural temperature control which is suitable for the passive house standard and an individual façade design. All of this increases your well-being in private households. The use thereof in office buildings also has a positive effect on performance capability at the workplace.
The possibility of fully automating these functions has now been opened up on the basis of the “Hawa Frontslide Matic”. The uniform, bidirectional SMI interface (Standard Motor Interface) combines the electric, silent and maintenance-free drive with the controller. Parallel circuits, each with up to 16 drives on one actuator, increase cost-effectiveness and reduce complexity, particularly with regard to installation and maintenance. The precise and synchronized actuation of several sliding shutters harmonizes the appearance of the façade and brings it to life.
Simple but powerful standard commands improve comfort, e.g. for delayed starting or braking or for precise movement to intermediate positions. The drive behavior can be flexibly adapted in the installed condition and interrogated via remote diagnosis at any time. Hawa also promises that there will be “seamless integration in the most popular field bus systems”. This makes it possible to integrate sensors for light and wind in the system, for example, so that the building can react sensitively and quickly to the external conditions at any time with a coordinated sliding shutter movement.
