Shelving units are taking kitchen and home environments by storm. By offering an open storage space that is both straightforward and effortless to access, they contribute to a spacious and airy living space concept. What’s more, the choice of material also creates a contemporary industrial style. This trend has inspired Kesseböhmer to create a modular shelving unit that offers furniture and kitchen manufacturers every opportunity to stand out from the crowd.
The unit centres around a basic frame system made of high-quality steel. Kesseböhmer relies on its exceptional expertise in metal processing and metalwork to manufacture units that meet all customer requirements in terms of their range of ladder geometries and sizes, profile cross sections and surfaces, and various base support and insertion concepts.
This modular design provides the customer with a virtually unlimited range of options at their disposal to create a striking feature in the form of an unmistakable shelving unit. The frame profiles are suitable for accommodating infinite construction possibilities and can be used in a wide range of environments: primarily in the kitchen and in neighbouring dining or living areas, but they can also be used as bookshelves, in the dressing room, in the bathroom and indeed anywhere that calls for a match made in heaven between storage and modern industrial charm.
One customer has already secured exclusivity for certain characteristics of the new shelving system until 2019. The ever-present Kesseböhmer will be showcasing more potential variations from its trade stand at SICAM in Pordenone from 16–19 October 2018. The diverse range of surfaces and thin metallic floors are just as eye-catching as the combination of wood and metal that has seen constant reinterpretations since Interzum 2017 in Cologne.
Kesseböhmer is also aiming to define a basic frame profile for its standard range, offering up to five different frame heights extending through to a tallest size of 2100 mm, in addition to three different depths. The company is already experimenting with various application ideas for its three most popular depths ahead of SICAM. The 20 cm depth, for example, is equally suitable for use as a niche solution in a type of workshop kitchen or as a media unit in a living space. The classic depth of 32 cm is ideal as a bookshelf or filing cabinet and can also be combined with wider wall units for use in the kitchen. As for the 52 cm depth, this option is perfect for use in living areas.
When designing its new shelving system, Kesseböhmer was keen to move away from the standard in favour of customizable solutions that were still affordable. The company will be appearing at SICAM on Stand B24/C29 in Hall 7, showcasing the full range of layout options for the first time and engaging with international customers from trade and industry.
